I am so happy to be back with you all this week! Congratulations for finishing the IAB and NWEA testing. I am very proud of all of your hard work and determination! Monday & Tuesday On our first zoom this week we will be working on finishing our initial lessons with our Spanish Alphabet and learning our números! We will watch these videos: SPANISH ALPHABET NUMBERS IN SPANISH Once we practice the alphabet and numbers together, we will play a Kahoot to test your skills about your Spanish numbers! Link: SPANISH NUMBERS KAHOOT Thursday & Monday (11/16) On our second zoom together, we will be taking a virtual trip, learn about El Día de los Muertos celebration, and draw our very own Calavera. - We will be reading the lessons from our HMH Spanish book. - We will go on a virtual field trip to Michoacán, Mexico. Video: Virtual Field trip to Michoacán, Mexico You will be submitting a written summary about El Día de los Muertos for your Independent Study work. Please take notes and review the summary instructions. - Lastly, I will show you how to draw a Calavera. You will have to take a picture of your finished drawing and attach it to the summary assignment. *Please have a blank piece of paper, a black marker/pen/pencil, and any other colors you would like to use ready for the calavera activity we will be doing during class.* Remember that every class is essential to your success in Spanish class. Make sure you are on-time, camera on, wearing your uniform, and most importantly, be ready to learn!

Independent StudyFor your Independent Study for this week you will be working on a Flipgrid video and Día de los Muertos Summary.
INDEPENDENT STUDY WORK #1 Instructions BEFORE taking the video: Practice saying the Spanish Alphabet. Practice spelling out your name in Spanish. Practice saying your age in Spanish. Video Instructions: Please be as creative as you'd like with the filters and emojis! STEP 1: Start your video and introduce your self. (Example: My name is Jenny and I will be saying the Spanish Alphabet, spelling my name and saying how old I am) STEP 2: Say the Spanish Alphabet using the El Alfabeto STEP 3: Spell your first name in Spanish! (Example: Alina, AH - EH-leh - EE - EH-neh - AH) STEP 4: When done spelling your name, tell us how old you are in Spanish! Example: "Tengo trece años" (I am thirteen years old) (12 - Doce, 13 - Trece, 14 - Catorce, 15 - Quince) INDEPENDENT STUDY WORK #2
During our Second Zoom, please take notes during class about these specific Vocabulary Terms: 1. Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) 2. Noviembre 3. Las Calaveras (The skulls) 4. El Cementerio (The cemetery) 5. Altares (Altars) 6. Ofrendas (Offerings) Summary Instructions: Write (2) Two paragraphs or more, with 5-7 sentences each. Highlight and bold the (6) six vocabulary terms in your summary. The assignment is found in your specific Google Classroom.
